agMIS Making financial evaluations |
|
A set of standard guidelines for measuring farm financial results and conditions, 16 in all, was first published in 1996 (Financial Guidelines for Agricultural Producers, Farm Financial Standards Council, July 1996). Elsewhere, ag producers generally must depend on others to evaluate their results -- at added expense and presuming, of course, they keep records accordingly. Conversely, built into the agMIS system are understandable tools for users to evaluate themselves, in a single 3-part screen we call a 'dashboard'. |
|
Five of the 16 measurements involve only balance sheet information, and agMIS presents them graphically and in text formats, both in summary and detail, from any current, pro forma, or past agMIS balance sheet.

Nine of the measurements involve more than balance sheet data, and a built-in worksheet makes it easy for users to test and evaluate their own scenarios -- based on estimates, what-if situations, or actual data from elsewhere in their agMIS system. In all cases, the agMIS dashboard displays and ranks the proforma results -- both graphically and numerically, along with additional print and export options. |

The remaining two standard measurements focus on debt and borrowing scenarios, and another agMIS worksheet (partially shown here) enables users to test and evaluate their own resource and payback alternatives.
