Management
Accounting -- Management accounting is more than 'accounting', and in this forum, we'll use two ways to explain and explore its many facets, all for users' benefits. The first way -- On the left, we'll publish answers to general questions about management accounting and MIS systems and software. If you have specific questions, send them to us and we'll try to respond here. The second way -- Via the questionnaire below, we're asking users to tell us about their management accounting needs, in order that we can expand the agMIS software documentation into more user areas. The agMIS software documentation today includes examples for row crops, cattle and hog producers, and dairies. Every agMIS software set is uniquely able to handle any and all those products and production and more, but it's that 'more' we're looking to expand, document and publish here, for others' benefits. Via the questionnaire below, tell us about your other management records needs, and if your solution is one we can document for others' usefulness, we'll furnish you free agMIS software. You must agree, of course, to use it and keep us informed of your results -- the good ones as well as those not-so-good -- so we, and our users, can continue to improve. |
Watch for these Accounting not required. No debits, credits, account numbers. Users decide levels of use. A busy crop producer, for example, may wish only to track critical inputs. Or feed only, for cattlemen. Track more than dollars and cents. Whatever you define -- weather and watering, pest control apps and events, field ops, livestock health, sustainable and organic requirements, more. Support for 'financial accounting'. Not every farm family needs dual-control accounting, but good MA systems support it, in audit-acceptable ways. |

Unlike most if not all
'farm accounting' programs, which are single-product specific and keep records
in general ledger financial accounting form and format, the
agMIS system is a
managements' generic framework we believe can adapt to just about any product,
project or production that can be quantified. At user-defined levels of
need. And while also supporting also, any level of acceptable (i.e.,
auditable) 'accounting' it user wants or needs. If your important production includes 'other ag-related enterprises' of any kind and you'd like our help to structure a management accounting solution, use your printer capabilities to print page two of this webpage below (one for each of your critical enterprises, if you wish), fill in the blanks and submit it or them. We'll respond, and if we feel we can help you -- and others as well from your experience -- we'll start by furnishing you a free edition of the farm financial management information system we call agMIS. |
